Sensory Processing Disorder

Sensory integration is a normal, neurological, developmental process which begins in the womb and continues throughout one’s life. Sensory processing is the process by which our brain takes in sensory input and interprets this information for use. If this neurological process becomes disrupted somewhere in the loop of intake, organization or output, then normal development and adaptive responses will not be achieved and can result in a Sensory Processing Disorder impacting physical, emotional and behavioral development. Join us to learn about sensory processing and what it means to your child.

Interactive Metronome Therapy

Interactive Metronome is a computerized program incorporating 13 exercises using hands and feet while listening to a steady beat. IM benefits children that have been diagnosed with ADHD, ADD and/or Autism. Interactive Metronome recognizes that what is fired together is wired together when talking about the brain. The multi-sensory input that occurs during each session creates new pathways in the brain that can be generalized to other skills such as motor planning, attention, focus, fine motor skills and communication to name a few. Join us to learn more about this foundation building therapy.
